A record of meetings from 2010
November 2009
As a professional
membership group serving the intercultural community within the greater
Washington metro area, we strive to provide you with informative
sessions on a wide range of topics that provide a glimpse into diverse
cultures. We are therefore pleased to welcome SIETAR DC member, Jo Ann
Ross, for our next event on Tuesday, November 10 from 6:30-8:30pm for an insightful session entitled Heart Connections: Sufi Wisdom and Practices followed by networking where old and new members can mix and mingle. Please see below for details.
As interculturalists, we are always seeking to connect with others
in a meaningful way. The ancient philosophy of Sufism teaches us how
to live more fully in our hearts, and build relationships with others, through
the heart. This universal idea is neither new nor revolutionary, but it's
not always easy to attain in our busy lives. Sufi practices help us
to achieve more easily this connection, and apply it to our
professional, and personal, relationships. Join Jo Ann Hinshaw Ross
in an evening of heart connections, in the Sufi way. This is a hands-on
workshop in which you'll learn how to communicate with, listen to and be
with others in a meaningful way. You do not have to know about
Sufism--or adhere to any religious belief--to benefit from these
practices. Just bring your heart!
